Our story

Kavita Lath, cooking in Mylapore since 2015

Tulsi Foods began with home delivery to a handful of families who wanted vegetarian food that tasted like their own kitchen rather than a restaurant.

The recipes are Kavita's, from her family in Rajasthan — dal with a proper tadka, sabzi that changes with what the market has, phulka rolled to order.

It is a pure vegetarian kitchen, and no-onion-garlic or Jain preparations are cooked separately when you ask.

Questions

Common questions

Is Tulsi Foods pure vegetarian?

Yes — the whole kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian. It's one of the reasons regulars in Alwarpet and Mylapore order from us for family meals and office lunches.

Do you have Jain or no-onion-garlic food?

Yes. Say so when you order — Jain and no-onion-garlic dishes are cooked separately, not just left out.

Where is Tulsi Foods located?

34 Murrays Gate Road, Alwarpet, Chennai 600018 — on the Alwarpet/Teynampet border, a short walk from Mylapore.

What areas do you deliver to?

Mylapore, Alwarpet and Teynampet fastest, with delivery out to Adyar and T. Nagar. Full breakdown on the delivery page.

Is Tulsi Foods the same as "Tulasi Foods" or "Thulasi Restaurant"?

Yes — same kitchen, same address. Tulasi Foods and Thulasi Restaurant are just how the name gets typed or heard.

Can I order directly instead of through Swiggy or Zomato?

Yes, and it's how we keep prices fair — order on the website or message us on WhatsApp directly.
